SONGS OF A LOST ISLAND

CAUSE: Human Rights

CATEGORY: Film

PROJECT DIRECTOR: Adam Sjoberg

SONGS OF A LOST ISLAND is a documentary film following the NFL great Troy Polamalu, telling the story of his upbringing as a poor Samoan kid in Southern California and his rise to becoming perhaps the greatest strong safety to ever play this position. Viewers join Troy Polamalu on a visual journey to the middle of nowhere – towering cliffs crashing into the sea, long boat races, and a culture of tattoos that cover the body as much as they cover a person’s history. Filled with stunning footage shot over ten years of traveling to American Samoa, SONGS OF A LOST ISLAND places Troy’s own story against the backdrop of the island with its vibrant cultural heritage, obsession with football, and uncertain future.
